Last week Kirsty and Cory came to visit us! We got to ask lots of questions about how they are getting on. We also filled Kirsty in about what we have been getting up to at school.

Chapter Chats

Over the Term we joined in on the national reading activity 'Chapter Chats'. It is a programme that sends out different valuable activities, questions, prompts for students to complete after listening to chapters from a novel, read by me. The children really enjoyed the book 'The Explorer' from last term. The activities were ranging from all sorts of curriculum areas such as art, literacy, technology. Here is Theo creating a poster about vampire bats from the novel and Finyas showing us the sign he made warning us about bullet ants. We will be continuing Chapter Chats this term with the book 'Little House on the Prairie'.

Teach the Teacher Day

On the last day of term, we held a Teach the Teacher Day! Each of the students were to compile and plan any sort of skill to teach me. The students had between 5-15 minutes depending on the number of students in their group. I was very impressed by the way that each of the students were thoroughly involved and engaged with the content that they were teaching. Finyas (on the left) gave us a remarkable lesson on how to draw different dimensional shapes and William and Torbjorn (on the right) inspired us and gave us tips on how to create our own superhero!

Gymnastics Practice

In term 2 we had the chance to work with Sam from the Rec Centre to practice our gymnastics floor routines and balances. We were always engaged and loved these lessons!
